With our trips, we offer you unique programs for small groups of like-minded travellers to discover the secret of our home country Morocco. We can also organise most programs for private groups on flexible dates.
Most of our tours are a mixture of cultural travel, sports activities, hiking/trekking and circuits. Our easy hiking tours, cultural travel and circuits focus on the Moroccan cultural experience and are suited for everyone who leads a reasonably active life. Our trekking tours in the mountains require that our guests are very fit and previous trekking experience is strongly recommended. Our hiking tours, cultural travel and circuits are led by one of our experienced local English speaking guides. During the trekking tours our guides are assisted by camp and cook staff, and a caravan of camels to carry our luggage.
Touching down at their destination in Morocco, our guests are warmly greeted by our guide who looks after them from arrival until their departure from Morocco. The escort crews come from the respective regions of your visit and, hence, they have very good local knowledge. Our cooks have a lot of experiences in the fulfilment of the culinary needs of our international guests. They prepare our meals in the Moroccan tradition and, if desired, are happy to show how to prepare Moroccan style meals. Through our helpful local teams our guests get to know our culture and the lifestyle of the Berbers in remote mountain regions as they enjoy the Berber’s unique hospitality
In general, we use small buses or jeeps to get to the starting points for our trekking tours. During our travels, luggage and the catering are carried either by mules (in the mountains) or by camels or also with jeeps (in the desert)
In the cities and during our circuits we stay in Riads, Kasbahs, and hotels or in local guest houses. During the trekking we spend the nights in 2-people tents, refuges, local guest houses or in Berber houses.
Moroccan cuisine: Couscous and other exotic Moroccan food
Fresh vegetables and fruits from Morocco are granted also on our trekking tours. Our cooks are specialists for Moroccan dishes. They buy fresh food at the local markets whenever possibly on our tours and prepare for us tasty Tajines with vegetables and meat, couscous and other Moroccan specialities. Thereby you have the opportunity to discover the Moroccan kitchen
We use only modern trekking and camping equipment for all of our tours in the mountains and in the desert. We will be lodged in modern 2-person tents (on inquiry also single tents). Our meals will be served in a separate large community tent, which can also be used for comfortable rests during the day. Shared Toilet facilities are provided in a separate tent.
Our guests will only be responsible to bring their own personal items such as sleeping bags, sleeping pads, and daypacks. We will provide a list of recommended personal items tailored to the specific tour to ensure that our guests are comfortable during their visit.
Our easy tours tend to be short day walks (4-5 hours max.) and rambles at low altitudes. Paths are well developed. These tours can be enjoyed by anyone who leads a reasonably active life. No special physical preparation is required. As we value culture off-the-beaten-track and contacts with the local population our tours may lead us on bad streets and we may spend some night in simple lodgings at local people. The motto for these trips is pleasure and relaxation for body, mind and soul!
These tours are for the more serious ramblers and a higher level of physical fitness is required. Normally we walk about 6 hours per day and the walks may involve up to 1,000 m of ascent/descent. Be prepared for several consecutive days' walking, sometimes at higher altitudes, so stamina is important. As we value culture off the beaten tracks and contacts with the local population our tours may lead us on bad streets and we may spend some night in simple lodgings at local people. Our motto for these trips: The common experience of nature and culture.
Our tough grade tours in the mountains require that you are very fit and previous trekking experience is strongly recommended. Normally we walk about 8 hours per day and the walks may involve more than 1,000 m of ascent/descent. These tours will involve several long days of continual trekking without a rest day, often at higher altitudes, so stamina is very important. An ideal combination of rather cultural pleasure and physical challenges!
